NEW! Cheetah Interaction!
Encounter one of Africa's most graceful cats up close & personal at the The Le Sueur Cheetah Project and experience the unforgettable thrill of hands on interaction with these magnificent cats in their newly erected enclosures. Come and meet our 3 cheetahs, Mikka, a Kalahari male and our two hand reared females nl: Shadow and Savanah, who were born on the Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve, but unfortunately rejected by their mother. These two girls were then hand reared by The Endangered Wildlife Trust & De Wildt Cheetah Trust and later returned to their place of birth. Now back with us these cats are our ambassadors for educational encounters. Feeling their spotted coat under your hand and hearing their loud purr as you kneel next to these incredible animals is an experience never to be forgotten. On arrival at the Cheetah Project you will be given an informative talk regarding the cheetahs of the world and their plight as well as some interesting facts about these cats. After your talk, you will be taken into the enclosures where you get up close and very personal with Shadow & Savannah. You will have the opportunity to touch, brush and pamper the girls. Our guests will then have a chance to see the tremendous speed of these cats as they run an eighty meter chase. The Le Sueur Cheetah Project’s long term goal will be to breed with them so as to reintroduce their offspring back into the African wild to help re-populate the dwindling numbers of these highly endangered species. A fee is charged for these activities any donations will be greatly accepted as this will all be put back into the care & welfare of these magnificent animals.

Game Ranger Diaries
The last two months have been full of surprise and wonder, as the reserve has been transformed into lush greenery after the first rains. A big surprise came our way with one of our hand reared cheetahs nl. Savannah showing signs of a possible pregnancy, we are all holding our breath to see if it is the real deal or just a phantom pregnancy. Zulu, the lodge meerkat has been through the worst of his ordeal and is now a healthy little clown, and always on his post to welcome the arriving guests.... Some excellent sightings have come our way the past few drives, with the pride of lion in full roar next to the vehicle, Elephants at the lodge hide, inquisitive rhino all around us and some super serval sightings. A pair of spotted eagle owls were blown out there nest in the lodge garden but no intervention was needed as the mother is taking good care of the on the ground. Well here's to a good summer and some great sightings.

Nambiti Private Game Reserve
Situated on the edge of the Zulu Land escarpment and only an hour’s drive from the central Drakensberg, Nambiti Private Game Reserve offers our guests more than just the big five. With its waterfalls and diverse landscapes, Nambiti offers the discerning guest endless opportunities and options. Unlike most other reserves, Nambiti has the carrying capacity of twice that of regions like Botswana, thus being able to carry more game per acre than other reserves. Started in about 1999 by Mr. Rob le Sueur, owner of Woodlands & Nambiti Falls. The reserve was originally cattle farming area. These farms were acquired and then the mammoth task of removing internal fencing and old buildings started. After all the unwanted manmade structures were removed, the job of removing all alien vegetation commenced. After some time the reserve was ready for the delicate task of re-introducing wildlife. After many years of management, the reserve has come full circle. The flora is flourishing and the fauna has settled down into the slow moving time of Africa.
